Jesus, the Light of the World, as we celebrate your birth, may we begin to see the world in the light of understanding you give us. As you chose the lowly, the outcasts, and the poor to receive the greatest news the world had ever known, so may we worship you in meekness of heart. May we also remember our brothers and sisters less fortunate than ourselves in this Season of Giving. Amen.

The Building Trades Class under the direction of instructor Matthew Hicks through the Whiteside Area Career Center in Sterling volunteered their time and labor to install new vinyl siding on the building occupied by the SVdP Society of Sterling. St. Mary Parish owner of the building, and their pastor, Fr. James R. Keenan, contributed the cost of materials and the Building Trades Class provided the free time and labor. SVdP operates a food pantry and financial aid assistance to community families in need of these services at this building on Sixth Street. SVdP extends a huge thank you to Fr. Keenan, St. Mary’s Parish, and the WACC, Mr. Hicks, and the Building Trades Class in working together to provide new siding on the building. It is evident with this project that working together makes a difference. God bless everyone involved in making this project a reality in our community.
